Recipient: Mom
Project Notes: First of all, I call these socks Thank You socks because my mom bought me a custom made sock bag from Piddleloop. I'm going to be reviewing the bag in the coming weeks. Now onto the important stuff! I did the Aloha Cast On, Fan Toe, Slip-Stitch Heel, 5" of 4x2 ribbing, and Elizabeth Zimmermann's Sewn Cast Off. I really like this cast off. It leaves a very nice edge at the cuff. I will definitely use this cast off in the future. The only down side is it takes longer to do than the Suspended Cast Off. But maybe I'm just slow at it. I caved and went back to Magic Loop on my Addi and while it was 1000 times better than the 2circ method, it still sucked. I'm really hoping now that Kelley Petkun is experimenting with the Magic Loop she will see that knitting 2 socks on a 32" KP Classic Circ is damn near impossible.
Pattern: Not really a pattern. More like a set of formulas. Queen Kahuna's Crazy Toes & Heels Toe Up version Mary Ann Beattie is a genius.

Yarn Brand: Knitpicks
Yarn Name: Sock Memories
Yarn Colorway: Grandma
Yarn Content: 100% Merino Wool
Amount of yarn used: 2 hanks (1 hank = 50 grams = 220 yards)
Gauge: 8spi & 11rpi in stockinette
Dimensions: Well I have very odd shaped feet. They are 5" long but 8" around. That makes wearing shoes impossible so socks are my friends in the winter.
Project Duration: I have no idea, but they didn't take long.
Recipient: Me
Project Notes: I did the Aloha Cast On, Fan Toe, Slip-Stitch Heel, 3" of half stockinette half 2x2 ribbing, and Suspended Cast Off. I don't have a 2mm crochet hook so that's why I didn't use the CT&H Cast Off. I've learned the 2circ method sucks ass. But it was a learning experience and I'm glad I've tried it. But now I'm certain that hanging back needle is a PITA. Now I have a major dilemma, what needle will I use for my next pair? I know I'm going back to Magic Loop but my favorite needles are the Knitpicks needles. They only come in 32" and that's not long enough to ML two socks at once, IMO. So either I go back to my Addi Turbos which I hate because they are just too curly and stiff or I shell out the cash for the new Addi Lace needles and take the risk they will be to "grabby" since they are coated with resin. Another problem is I need a 2mm needle otherwise I don't get a dense fabric. So really I guess the Addi Lace needles are out because they only come in a 2.5mm and larger. So now I'm back to square one.
